Not so fast -- another arrogant overrider

I am a devoted user of Media Player Classic, which provides about everything I want in a player. However, after hearing good things about KMPlayer, I decided to check it out. As soon as I installed it, I discovered that it had rewritten all my file associations, making itself the default app for all media files, video, DVD, sound, everything. This is not only unacceptable, in my opinion it is the height of callous arrogance. I wanted to try the player, not marry it. I immediately uninstalled this piece of junk, and I have spent the last hour restoring my associations filetype-by-filetype, resetting icons, and reinstating folder options in a tedious process that I should never have had to undertake. No, I have no idea how good a player KMPlayer is, and I never will. I refuse to use software that rewrites my preferences without asking (there was some wizard that appeared at the end of the installation that may have been offering a way out of this, but that was in no way clear). Thanks for nothing you jackasses.

Best:

Don't know

Worst:

Overwrites user preferences without warning. Undoing this takes an hour or more, assuming one knows how. This is totally unacceptable.
